What this site is (and what it is not)
Camping Sites in Britain is a directory. We help you find campsites, caravan parks, glamping and motorhome sites, and we point you to the site's own website or phone number so you can book directly with them.
We are not the operator of any campsite listed here, and we are not a booking agent. Any booking you make, and any payment, contract, stay or dispute, is between you and the campsite. We are not a party to it.
Listing information and accuracy
The information in our listings comes from many sources over many years, including campsite owners themselves. We review changes before they are published and we correct errors when we find them, but we cannot guarantee that every detail of every listing is accurate, complete or current. Prices, opening dates, facilities and rules change.
Always check the important details with the campsite directly before you travel or book. If you spot something wrong, we would genuinely like to know: basecamp@campingsitesinbritain.co.uk.
Your account
Some features, such as claiming and managing a listing, need an account. When you create one you agree to give us accurate information, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under your login. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
Claiming a listing
Campsite owners and their authorised managers can claim the listing for their site. By claiming a listing you confirm that you genuinely own or are authorised to manage that campsite. We verify claims before approving them, we may ask for evidence, and we may refuse or later revoke a claim if we are not satisfied it is genuine. Pretending to own a campsite that is not yours is a serious breach of these terms.
Content you give us
Owners can add and edit listing details and upload photos. Visitors can write reviews. When you give us content, you keep ownership of it, and you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, moderate, adapt for display (for example resizing a photo), publish and show that content: on this website, across our services, and on web pages we operate in connection with the listed campsite. You promise that you own the content or have the right to give it to us, that photos you upload were taken at the campsite in question, and that your content does not infringe anyone else's rights.
Everything you submit is checked by us before it is published, and we may decline or remove any content at our discretion, with or without a reason. Content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, misleading or infringing will be refused or removed.
Reviews
Reviews must be honest, first-hand and about a genuine stay. You must not review a campsite you own, work for or compete with, and you must not offer or accept anything in exchange for a review. Reviews are the opinions of the people who wrote them, not our opinions, and we do not endorse them. We moderate reviews before publication and may reject or remove them, but we do not routinely verify the facts they contain.
Acceptable use
You agree not to: misuse the site or interfere with how it works; harvest, scrape or bulk-download our content or data; submit false, misleading or malicious content; claim listings you are not authorised to manage; use the site to spam or harass anyone; or attempt to get around our security or moderation.
Our content
The design, text, branding, software and databases that make up this site belong to us or our licensors. You may use the site for your own personal, non-commercial purposes, and share links to it. You may not republish, resell or systematically extract our content or data without our written permission.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded under the law of England and Wales. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
Subject to that: the site is provided free of charge and "as is"; we do not guarantee it will always be available or error-free; we are not responsible for the acts, omissions, services or premises of any campsite listed here; and we are not liable for losses caused by relying on listing information without checking it with the campsite, or for losses that were not a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms. We are not liable for business losses; the site is provided for private use.
Other websites
Listings link out to campsites' own websites, and other external sites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or how they handle your data.
Suspending or ending access
We may suspend or withdraw the site, or any feature of it, at any time. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, and owners' claimed listings may revert to unclaimed if a claim turns out not to be genuine. You can close your account at any time by contacting us.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example when we add new features. The date at the top of the live page will show when they last changed, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Privacy
How we handle personal data is covered by our privacy policy, which sits alongside these terms.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute can be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also be able to bring proceedings in your home courts.
