Why campers love it here
About this site
Pitches: 20 Opening Dates: March - October Conifers Pentraeth farm has stunning views of Newport Bay set in the picturesque Pembrokeshire Coast National park. The coastline is rugged but the beach is sandy and welcomes visitors throughout the year. There is always something to watch whether it is a cormorant catching dinner or dolphins swimming majestically through the surf. Sailors love to come here and for those who are less enthusiastic about boats there is always the boat club where it is possible to enjoy the activity surrounding the bay over a glass of wine or a pint of beer. You can see Newport golf club from the camping site and there are tennis courts in Newport town for the energetic. There are many local attractions and it is possible to take a day trip to Ireland from the nearby port of Fishguard Pembrokeshire. Alternatively catch the tourist bus which takes you to the Pembrokeshire National coastal paths and picks you up later. There are numerous local hostelries where you can enjoy a fine meal or just a drink and a chat with the locals. The town has a Spar shop, a post office and a hardware centre. There is also a health centre and pharmacist. Conifers Campsite has toilets and showers, a washing up area, washing machine and tumble dryer. There are electric hook ups. Conifers Camping is still a working farm although on a small scale now. We still have hay time and visitors enjoy watching the machinery used to cut and bail the hay before it is transported to mid Wales. The pitches are marked out but we try to keep an area for children to play ball games or fly a kite.
