You can also leave the car behind and take the train to see some of Scotland's most beautiful scenery. The town of Dingwall is only half a mile away. The Heritage Trail passes the site and goes along the River Peffery to a picnic area on the Cromarty Firth. Trains leaving from Dingwall follow beautiful routes to Kyle of Lochalsh or Thurso and Wick. Ben Wyvis is a National Nature Reserve and home to deer, pine marten and the UK's largest bird, the golden eagle. There are many beautiful walks in the area, including a trail up Fyrish Hill where there is a monument at the summit. Culloden Battlefield and its new Visitor Centre has an exhibition of Jacobite weaponry and artifacts to commemorate the infamous battle of 1746. Several wine and spirit producers are nearby. Moniak Castle makes wine from wildflowers and fruits. Glenmorangie distills its famous malt whisky at Tain. For more information please visit our website .
