About this site
Pitches: 50 Opening Dates: 01/03 to 26/10 "Beauty by royal appointment" Tarland by Deeside has been favoured by royalty for many years. Queen Victoria chose the area for her home at Balmoral in the 1850s and it is still a favourite with the Royal family today. Our Club Site shares the same spectacular scenery. Tarland village is a five-minute walk away. It has shops, a bowling green and a golf course. It is a good starting point for walks, with open views towards Mount Keen, Lochnagar and Morven. Aberdeen - the Granite City - is to the east, with fine buildings, good shops, theatres, galleries and museums. A bus from the village goes to the city centre. Aboyne, six miles from the site, has shops and a swimming pool. The theatre is central to the Aboyne and Deeside Festival in July. The local Highland Games are held here in August. Glen Tanar and Muir of Dinnet are two superb local nature reserves. The fairytale Craigievar Castle is pinkish in colour and on Scotland's Castle Trail.
