About this site

Ayr Holiday Park is a terraced campsite, touring park and holiday caravan park overlooking Porthmeor Beach in St Ives, Cornwall, and the only campsite in the town itself. The beaches, harbour, Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum sit a ten minute walk downhill, and the bus back up the hill stops at the park entrance. Hardstanding and grass pitches take tents, campervans, motorhomes and touring caravans, almost all with 16 amp electric hook up and water, and most look straight out over St Ives Bay; holiday caravans, apartments and lodges are there for everyone else. The site slopes, so caravanners should pack levelling chocks and anyone with limited mobility should ring ahead, and peak prices reflect the location, so budget campers will find cheaper fields elsewhere in Cornwall. The combination is what stands out: town on foot, sea views from the pitch, the Quarterdeck restaurant and swimming pool on site (£3.50 a swim), a shower block with underfloor heating, free wifi, an adventure playground and a dog exercise field. Dogs stay on leads from £3.50 a night, while campfires, fire pits and disposable barbecues are banned. Ayr Holiday Park is open all year, with 2026 touring pitches from £13.50 a night plus per person charges, booked by phone with a £100 deposit.

Good to know

Are dogs allowed at Ayr Holiday Park?
Yes, dogs are welcome on touring and camping pitches for £3.50 to £6.50 a night depending on the season in 2026. They must be kept on a short lead, exercised in the dog field or off site, and never left unattended; some holiday caravans also accept dogs, though the apartments do not.
Can I have a campfire or barbecue at Ayr Holiday Park?
No, fire pits and disposable barbecues are banned across the park, so plan to cook on a camping stove or eat at the Quarterdeck restaurant instead. Fireworks, Chinese lanterns and generators are also not permitted, music must stop by 10pm, and the playground closes at the same time.
When is Ayr Holiday Park open?
Ayr Holiday Park is open all year, including Christmas and New Year, for touring, camping and holiday caravans. The shower block has underfloor heating for winter stays, and the 2026 tariff runs in four seasonal bands, with early and late season (4 January to 29 March and 3 October to 15 December) the cheapest.
How much does camping at Ayr Holiday Park cost?
A standard pitch for a tent, caravan or motorhome starts from £13.50 a night in the 2026 early and late season, rising to £31.50 in peak summer, with adults charged £7.75 to £14.75 each on top. A serviced pitch with 16 amp electric hook up adds £9 a night.
How far is Ayr Holiday Park from the beach and St Ives town centre?
The park overlooks Porthmeor Beach and St Ives Bay, and the town centre, harbour and beaches are about a ten minute walk away. It is the only campsite in St Ives itself, and a bus stops at the park entrance for the ride back up the hill.
Do the pitches at Ayr Holiday Park have electric hook-up?
Yes, almost all touring and camping pitches have a 16 amp electric hook up and a water supply, charged as a £9 a night serviced pitch supplement in 2026. Both hardstanding and grass pitches are available, and terracing keeps them level on the naturally sloping site.
