Why campers love it here
About this site
Beach View Holiday Park is a family run touring park on Sizewell Common near Leiston, sitting inside the Suffolk Coast and Heaths National Landscape with the shingle about 100 metres away. You reach the beach on foot along the coastal path, and the rest of the Suffolk coast opens up quickly: Thorpeness is roughly a mile and a half south, RSPB Minsmere about three miles north, Aldeburgh about three and a half miles away and Dunwich about five. There are 50 level pitches for touring caravans, motorhomes and campervans, all with 16 amp electric hook-up, most with their own water tap, plus a group of fully serviced hardstandings with water and waste connections. Read this bit twice: Beach View does not take tents. If you want camping without the poles, three Snugg-Pods sleep up to four and come with underfloor heating, a fridge and a microwave, though you still walk to the shower block like everyone else. Group bookings are capped at three pitches and rallies run only in low season, so this is not the spot for a big gathering. What lifts it beyond the facility list is the deliberate quiet: no evening entertainment and no tannoy, just a heated block with free showers, an accessible wet room, a family bathroom with a mini bath and baby change, a laundry, a games room and a beachside bar and cafe open six days a week through summer. The season runs March to November, with touring pitches from £26 a night.
