About this site
Pitches: 90 Opening Dates: 01/04 to 02/11 The beauty of the Cotswolds surrounds our site at Chipping Norton. The buildings and churches in golden stone were built on the riches of the woollen trade. It is an ideal place for a relaxing break. Chipping Norton - the gateway to the Cotswolds - is a bus ride from site. Its parish church is one of the finest in the country. The town has a museum, cinema, theatre and leisure centre. There are many antiques shops and plenty of places for eating out. Hook Norton brewery is open to the public. It still uses a steam engine and other traditional methods to produce its beer. Hidcote Manor has gardens in an arts and crafts style. Stow-on-the-Wold is a lovely small Cotswold town. Stratford-upon-Avon is known as the birthplace of Shakespeare. It is also home to a butterfly farm and the Royal Shakespeare Company. The Cotswold Falconry Centre and Batsford Arboretum are both at Batsford near Morton-in-the-Marsh. The Falconry gives an insight into the ancient art in a natural setting and the Arboretum is one of the country's largest private collections of trees and shrubs.
