Clockhouse Farm Caravan Park is a quiet, family-run touring site spread over 9 acres of meadow overlooking the Stour Valley at Glemsford, near Sudbury in Suffolk, with individual lawned pitches divided up by small trees. The park takes 35 vans and has 30 electric hook-ups, with a separate area for tents and a separate field again for rallies, so caravans, motorhomes and tents are all sorted. Glemsford village is a third of a mile away, Long Melford 2.8 miles, Clare 3.8 miles, Sudbury about 5 miles and Lavenham 5.7 miles, which puts you in easy reach of the finest wool towns in Suffolk, while Bury St Edmunds is roughly 10 miles north. A fish and chip shop, a Chinese takeaway, four pubs, two small shops, a supermarket and a farm shop are all within walking distance, and buses run to Long Melford, Sudbury and Bury St Edmunds. Be clear on the facilities before you book: Clockhouse Farm provides toilets, hand basins, drinking water, a washing up point and a chemical waste point, plus a hair salon on site, but showers are not listed among them, so this one favours tourers carrying their own washroom. Well behaved pets are welcome and the owners are known for checking in on guests. The park is open all year, and its most recently published rates start from £25 a night for a caravan with electric, including two adults.
