Common End Farm Campsite

Common End Farm is a small, family run campsite on a working farm about 3 miles west of Ashbourne, in the quiet southern corner of the Peak District. Set on a gently sloping grass field behind the farmhouse and barns, it looks out over open countryside with views reaching across to Thorpe Cloud and towards Dovedale, so you get proper Peak District scenery without the crowds. There are around 30 pitches plus a rally and overflow field, a mix of grass and a few hardstandings, with electric hook up points in both 6 amp and 10 amp. Tents, caravans and campervans are all welcome. A traditional stone barn has been converted into modern ladies and gents toilets and showers, and there is a covered pot wash area with a freezer for ice packs and an information board. Open fire baskets are a real feature here, available to rent with logs and kindling, and campers regularly say the evenings around the fire were the highlight of their trip. Dogs are welcome with responsible owners as long as they are kept on leads, and children are welcome too. Ashbourne is a short drive back for shops and pubs, while Alton Towers is about 5 miles away for a family day out. Common End Farm opens from late March to the end of September, and you book your pitch through the campsite's own online booking system.
