About this site

Eastgate Caravan Site and Don's Pond is a small family-run touring site in the quiet village of East Heslerton, between Malton and the North Yorkshire coast. Set on three quarters of an acre of flat, well drained grass, it takes just 12 touring caravans, with motorhomes and trailer tents also welcome, each on a well spaced pitch with electric hook-up and water. Malton and its regular food markets are a short drive west, Scarborough is 13 miles east, York is 30 miles away and the Yorkshire Wolds rise just over the hill, while the York to Scarborough railway runs alongside the site, with steam engines passing in July and August. This is a simple, peaceful spot rather than a full facility park: there is a shower block, two toilet blocks, a play area for under 10s and an indoor snooker room, and the nearest shop is a 2 mile drive. The real draw beyond the pitches is Don's Pond, a well stocked coarse fishery five minutes' walk away, with day tickets at £6 and reduced rates for Eastgate guests. Dogs are welcome on leads, pitch prices are not published online, and booking is by phone through the owners.
