Why campers love it here
About this site
Pitches: 120 Opening Dates: Open All Year Great Langdale Campsite nestles below the towering Langdale Pikes, in one of the best walking and climbing areas in the Lake District. There's lots to see and do in the valley, and we even have our own National Trust pub, the Sticklebarn, just down the road. Fell walking routes include Bowfell, Crinkle Crags, the Langdale Pikes and England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike. Raven Crag, Gimmer Crag and White Ghyll are among the numerous rock climbing locations in the valley, providing some of the most spectacular rock routes in the UK. Great Langdale has 120 camping pitches. Clubs and organised groups may book the group field. For all other groups the maximum number of adults in one party is 4. There is a separate family field. All campers are advised to book their pitch in advance especially in high season. To make a booking, obtain information or check availability, please visit our website . In addition to camping pitches, Great Langdale also has 8 campervan pitches with electric hookup and 9 pods all with heating and electric. There are also 2 glamping options through third party partners Long Valley Yurts and BaseCamp Tipis. In addition to the standard facilities you'd expect, the site also has a children's playground, a bouldering wall, orienteering course and mountain bike hire. During high season campers can sign up for rock climbing, gorge scrambling and more with Quest 4 Adventure. Sticklebarn just along the road provides music, film and comedy nights as well as great pub food.
