About this site

Pitches: 45 Opening Dates: 01/04 to 02/11 Haltwhistle Club Site is in a clearing of Bellister Wood, once the property of Bellister Castle Estate and now managed by the National Trust. You may find you are sharing a pitch with red squirrels. Haltwhistle town is full of history. Examples include the 12th century church, a peletower - now a hotel - and five other Bastle Houses (defensible houses) from its Border Reiving past. The Haltwhistle Rings is a series of 22 walks taking in the best the local countryside has to offer. Hadrian's Wall is only four miles from the site. A bus travels the length of the wall (73 miles) in the summer. Housesteads Roman Fort is the most complete Roman Fort in Britain and has amazing views. The Roman Army Museum and Vindolanda both give facinating insights into the lives of the Romans who once dominated the area. The South Tyne Trail is part of the National Cycle Network, half a mile from the site. For more information please visit our website . Member price from: £6.10 per person per night
