Higher Moor Campsite

Higher Moor Campsite is a small traditional campsite at the bottom of a valley on the edge of National Trust Cubert Common near Crantock in Cornwall, with 23 widely spaced pitches and two sandy beaches within walking distance. Porth Joke beach is a gentle 15 minute stroll to the west, Crantock Beach is also walkable, and Crantock village and the hamlet of West Pentire, with pubs, galleries, a shop and a post office, are within half a mile. Cubert Common gives miles of unrestricted walking straight from the gate on this quiet stretch of the north Cornwall coast. The pitches sit mostly around the perimeter of a level 2 acre field, each with its own picnic table, so tents get room to breathe and children get space to run. There are no electric hook ups, which suits campers who like to keep things simple and rules out anyone needing mains power. Two toilet blocks provide showers, a washing up area, a laundry room, a freezer for ice blocks and a disabled toilet and shower. Fresh salad and vegetables are grown at Higher Moor, campers can use the shop and bar at neighbouring Treago Farm, and dogs stay for £2.50 a night on leads, with both nearby beaches allowing dogs. Booking is properly old school: a printed form, then cash, cheque or bank transfer. The site opens from 4 April to 31 October in 2026, with adults from £12 a night and under 14s from £6.
