Jerusalem Farm Campsite

Jerusalem Farm Campsite is a back-to-basics, tents-only campsite run by Calderdale Council beside the Jerusalem Farm and Wade Wood Local Nature Reserve, in the Luddenden Valley between Halifax and Hebden Bridge. Important: as of 2026 the campsite is closed indefinitely according to Calderdale Council, although the surrounding nature reserve and its car park stay open to walkers. When operating, it is a simple, informal site aimed at backpackers and families rather than caravanners: there are no electric hook-ups, no caravan or motorhome pitches, and vehicles are left up by the reception so you carry your gear down to the grass pitches by Luddenden Brook. That car-free layout, the stream, the woodland of Wade Wood and the open moors above are what make it stand out, along with a small adventure playground and clean toilet and shower facilities near the car park. The setting near Booth, a short drive from Halifax, suits tent campers who want quiet, nature-first camping and do not mind a walk with their kit. It does not suit anyone needing hook-ups, hard standings or drive-up pitches. Historically the site opened between Easter and the end of September, with camping charged per person, and it was booked through Calderdale Council.
