About this site

Kings Forest Caravan Park is an adults-only caravan, camping and glamping site at Wideham Farm on the edge of West Stow, Suffolk, with immediate access to the King's Forest. The farm covers 90 acres and the forest tracks start at the gate, which is the whole reason to come: you can walk, cycle or ride out for miles without touching a road. Bury St Edmunds is 5 miles away and the racing town of Newmarket 12 miles, while the West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village and Country Park sits directly opposite and Lackford Lakes, good for birdwatching, is just around the corner. Lavenham and Long Melford are within reach for a day out. You can pitch up on an electric hook-up pitch or a non-electric grass pitch, or take one of three glamping pods, including the Sunset View Pod with its own hot tub. Tents, trailer tents, motorhomes and RVs are all welcome and dogs stay free on a lead, with a warm pooch wash by the shower block. Nobody under 18 stays here, campfires and fire pits are banned because of the forest (BBQs are fine kept off the ground), ball games are out, and the wifi is patchy, though Vodafone 4G holds up. Kings Forest Caravan Park opens 1 April to 31 October, with grass pitches from £30 a night and electric hook-up from £33.

Good to know

Is Kings Forest Caravan Park adults only?
Yes, it is a quiet adults only site and no young people under the age of 18 are allowed. The operator states this on both the caravan park page and the parent Wideham Farm site. Noise is expected to drop after 8pm, with no noise or music at all after 10pm.
Why is the website widehamfarm.co.uk?
Because Kings Forest Caravan Park is located at Wideham Farm, a 90 acre equestrian and holiday estate at West Stow. It is not a rebrand or a wrong address. The park has its own dedicated booking site at kingsforestholidays.co.uk, run by Kings Forest Leisure Ltd, where you will find current rates.
How much are pitches at Kings Forest Caravan Park?
For the 2026 season, non-electric grass pitches are from £30 a night and electric hook-up pitches from £33, based on two adults and one vehicle. Glamping pods run from £45 for the Wee Pea Pod up to £85 for the Sunset View Pod with hot tub. Dogs are free.
Are campfires allowed at Kings Forest Caravan Park?
No, fire pits and open fires are not permitted because the site sits immediately against the King's Forest. Barbecues are allowed, but they must be kept off the ground. This is a firm rule rather than a seasonal restriction, so plan your cooking around a raised BBQ or gas.
When is Kings Forest Caravan Park open?
The caravan and camping park runs from 1 April to 31 October and closes over winter. The holiday homes and lodges at Wideham Farm stay open all year, so those are the option for a winter trip. No refunds are given for cancellations within 48 hours of arrival.
Can you bring a horse to Kings Forest Caravan Park?
Yes, Wideham Farm is a purpose-built equine facility with stabling and post and rail turnouts, and the King's Forest offers miles of riding tracks from the gate. You do not need to be into horses to stay, but it is a genuine draw for those who are.
