About this site

Lickpenny is a touring park set above the village of Tansley, within easy reach of Matlock and Bakewell in the Derbyshire dales. It was bought by the Caravan and Motorhome Club and now trades as Lickpenny Matlock Club Campsite, though it stays open to both members and non members. Laid out across 16 acres of a former plant nursery, the park keeps mature trees and rhododendrons as natural dividers between more than 120 generous hardstanding pitches. This is a caravan, motorhome and trailer tent site: it does not take tents or gazebos, and every pitch has 16 amp electric, with some fully serviced pitches offering their own water and drainage. There are two centrally heated shower and toilet blocks, accessible and family facilities, laundry rooms and a veg prep and washing up area, plus a couple of electric vehicle charging points. Children have a central play area, and a wooded dog walking area means the dog is welcome too. Being all hardstanding with heated facilities, the park suits year round touring, and Matlock, Chatsworth and the wider Peak District are all close by for days out. Entry is by keypad barrier with CCTV for peace of mind. Prices start from around £31 a night for two adults on a standard pitch, booked through the Club.
