Oakside Camping

Set in the quiet countryside village of Sykehouse near Goole, Oakside Camping is a small, family-run site in East Yorkshire that takes tents, campervans, caravans and motorhomes. One field is given over to smaller campervans that need toilet facilities, and a larger overflow area handles self-contained caravans and motorhomes, with roughly 20 pitches in total across a generous 12 metre by 12 metre size. Six pitches carry an electric hook-up, and the site has a toilet and shower block, a washing-up area, chemical waste disposal and drinking water. Fire pits and barbecues are welcome here, provided they are raised off the ground and put out by 11pm, which makes Oakside a good pick if an evening by the fire is part of your trip. This is a no-dog site, with an exception only for assistance dogs, and there is play equipment for younger children. The Old George Inn is about a mile away for breakfasts, lunches and evening meals, while the canal and Transpennine Trail at the end of the lane give you walking and cycling straight from the gate. Sykehouse Fisheries sits directly opposite for anglers, booked direct with the fishery. The site opens from April to September, payment is taken on arrival by cash or bank transfer, and private hire of the whole campsite can be arranged.
