Park House Camping & Swaledale Yurts

Park House Camping & Swaledale Yurts is a riverside glamping site at Park House, half a mile outside Keld at the top of Swaledale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, where five Mongolian yurts stand on the banks of the River Swale with a waterfall on the doorstep. Keld is the crossing point of the Pennine Way and the Coast to Coast route, so this is a brilliant stopover for walkers, with Muker 3 miles down the dale and the Tan Hill road climbing straight from the gate. Each 19ft yurt sleeps up to five on four singles and a sofa bed, with a wood burning stove, electric hook up, its own loo and shower, plus a barbecue and fire bowl outside, and a shared Camper's Barn kitchen for proper cooking. The owners serve home cooked evening meals, breakfasts and packed lunches under a full drinks licence, there is a bookable private hot tub, and guests praise the welcome and the food as much as the setting. Swaledale Yurts is a quiet family site, so hen and stag groups are out unless they book the whole place, and campers with tents or tourers should ring ahead because the current website lists yurt stays only. Dogs stay for £15 each, the site reopens for 2026 on 25 March after its winter close, and yurts cost from £129 a night for two.
