Penpont Camping

Pitches: 10 Opening Dates: March To October Camping is how it should be at Penpont! The site, the old Rose Garden, has an incredibly informal layout - no lines of designated pitches but a variety of small private spaces amongst the mature trees and shrubs with a central open communal space. From May onwards we erect a large white funky awning, in the Rose Garden's open space, which provides great shelter to gather under should the weather not be so kind! Alternatively there are some riverside pitches and if you're lucky you'll see the otters, the kingfishers, the dippers and other wildlife. There are a couple of deep swimming pools in the river but do bring some old trainers to paddle and swim in. Penpont has the fishing rights to about a mile, both banks, of the River Usk. We stipulate fly only and catch & release. We charge £15 per rod per day. There are a couple of permanent communal fire places and we have several metal raised fire pits which can be used by our campers and placed anywhere. We sell seasoned bags of logs at £5/bag - gather your own kindling and bring some old newspaper & matches. We also sell our own charcoal in the farm shop(open mid-June) alongside our fresh produce from the walled gardens. There is also a freezer full of delicious local organic meat and eggs too. The hot showers and loos are located within the Stable Block which is a short walk away from the camp-site. There is also a washing up sink and drainer and a stand pipe for fresh water.
