About this site

Polstead Country Park is a strictly adults-only touring park at Bower House Tye near Hadleigh, Suffolk, and it is no longer the Camping and Caravanning Club site that many campers still expect: it left the Club network and now trades under Sellers Leisure. You will find it on Holt Road (CO6 5BZ), a mile from Polstead village, roughly three miles from Hadleigh and seven miles east of Sudbury, on the edge of a conservation area. Pitches come as hardstandings for caravans, motorhomes and campervans, or grass for tents, with electric available and seasonal pitches for campers who want to leave a unit in place. The adults-only rule means families with children are out, and commercial vehicles are turned away too. Dogs are welcome and there are dog walks on the park. Facilities run to refurbished toilets and showers, an accessible bathroom, a laundry, dish-washing areas, a motorhome service point, chemical and waste disposal, Calor gas sales, free Wi-Fi and 24-hour CCTV, with gated access on a code between 6am and midnight. What you really come to this corner of Suffolk for is what surrounds it: Lavenham, Kersey and Boxford are all inside ten miles, and Constable's Stour Valley at Flatford is a short drive south. Check-in is 2pm, check-out is noon, and prices are quoted through the Sellers Leisure booking system.

Good to know

Is Polstead still a Camping and Caravanning Club site?
No, it is not. The site has left the Camping and Caravanning Club network and now operates as Polstead Country Park under Sellers Leisure. The Club's Suffolk pages now list only Kessingland, and the old Club listing for Polstead no longer resolves to a live page.
Can families with children stay at Polstead Country Park?
No, the park is strictly adults only, so no under-18s are admitted at all. If you are camping with children in this part of Suffolk you will need to look at another site. The rule is the park's defining feature and it keeps the place notably quiet.
Are dogs allowed at Polstead Country Park?
Yes, dogs are welcome and the operator makes a point of saying so. There are dedicated dog walks laid out on the park, plus a good network of footpaths and bridleways around Polstead village and the neighbouring conservation area for longer walks off site.
What pitch types are there at Polstead Country Park?
There are hardstanding pitches suited to caravans, motorhomes and campervans, and grass pitches for tents. Electric hook-up is available, and seasonal pitches can be booked if you want to leave a unit in place for the season. Commercial vehicles are not accepted on the park.
What facilities does Polstead Country Park have?
Facilities include refurbished toilets and showers, an accessible bathroom, a laundry room, dish-washing areas, a motorhome service point, chemical and waste disposal points, Calor gas sales, fresh water outlets, free Wi-Fi, hairdryers and 24-hour CCTV. Access is through a code-operated bollard between 6am and midnight.
How much does it cost to stay at Polstead Country Park?
Sellers Leisure quotes prices through its own booking system rather than publishing a fixed nightly rate. The pitch price covers two adults, one caravan, motorhome, campervan or tent, one awning and parking for one car. Extra adults, gazebos, trailers and early check-in are charged separately.
