Sandyhills Bay has a superb, long, sandy beach on its doorstep, making it ideal spot for a fun, family holiday beside the sea. Choose to stay in one of the luxury, two or three bedroom, fully equipped self-catering caravans and you can enjoy a stress-free break and stunning views over the bay - all you need to bring is bed linen and towels and, of course, food. Or why not leave the shopping until you get here and pick up some fresh locally sourced produce from the shop or the nearby town of Dalbeattie? Alternatively, if you are planning to bring your tourer, motorhome or tent, the wooded site is immaculately maintained and has excellent facilities including a well-stocked licensed shop and a play area for the little ones. There is also a well-kept toilet block, laundry and wash-up areas for your pots and pans. The beautiful beach is accessible directly from the park, meaning you can spend an afternoon enjoying a picnic in one of the sheltered coves or take a stroll along the headland. There is an excellent 18-hole golf course right next to the park and just a short walk away there is a riding centre and a swimming pool. Here you also ideally located for exploring the historic town of Dalbeattie and the Food Town of Castle Douglas. Take a trip to Kippford to watch the boats or to make the most of the excellent sailing facilities if you have brought your own. Also well worth a visit is the beautiful seaside cove at Rockcliffe.
