Stanstead Hall Certificated Location is a five-van, adults-only CL set on a working farm deep in the Suffolk countryside at Hitcham, reached up a long private drive that leaves the road noise well behind. The farm gathers around a moated 16th century hall between Stowmarket and Lavenham, both roughly 5 miles away, with Long Melford about 9 miles on and a good scatter of National Trust properties within half an hour's drive. The site covers about an acre with hard standing and numerous electric hook-ups, and because there are no fixed pitches you pick your own spot, with extra cable available if you need it. It takes 5 caravans or motorhomes and no more, so it will not suit tent campers, families with children, or anyone after a park with entertainment, and you must be a Caravan and Motorhome Club member to book. What lifts Stanstead Hall above the usual CL is the shower and toilet block: it has a wet room and wide doors suitable for a wheelchair, which is rare on a site this small, alongside an eco-chemical disposal point, free satellite wifi and farm eggs for sale when the hens oblige. The site is open all year, from £25 a night payable on arrival (£26 from October to March), booked direct with the owner at Hitcham, Suffolk.
