About this site

Steadings Holiday Park, listed here under its former name Steadings Park Camping And Caravan Site, is a family-run caravan park at Newbourne near Woodbridge that has shifted its centre of gravity to seasonal pitches and holiday lodges. The park backs onto the Newbourne Springs nature reserve and The Fox Inn is a short walk from the gate, with Woodbridge about 4 miles away, the River Deben at Waldringfield around 2 miles, and Felixstowe roughly 6 miles down the road in Suffolk. Over 100 hard standing seasonal pitches make up the bulk of the park, each fully serviced with electric hook-up, a water point, grey waste and a grassed garden area, and only a small number of touring pitches are held back, so tourers should ring ahead and tent campers will need to look elsewhere. Beyond the modern shower and toilet block, which runs to family and accessible wet rooms and a dog washing area, Steadings Holiday Park has a well-stocked fishing lake reserved for park guests, a café and shop, an EV charge point, and ANPR barrier entry with CCTV over much of the site. The season runs from 1 March to 3 January and prices are quoted by the park direct, so contact reception at Newbourne for pitch availability and rates.

Good to know

Is Steadings Park Camping And Caravan Site still open?
Yes, the park is open and now trades as Steadings Holiday Park at Newbourne near Woodbridge. The name has changed but the location and phone number have not. Its focus has moved towards seasonal caravan pitches and holiday lodges rather than the nightly touring and camping trade it once took.
Can I book a touring pitch at Steadings Holiday Park?
The park keeps a small number of touring pitches and asks you to contact it for availability and prices, as there is no online booking engine. The bulk of the park is over 100 fully serviced seasonal hard standing pitches, so ring reception at Newbourne well ahead of your trip.
Are tents allowed at Steadings Holiday Park?
No, the park is set up for caravans, motorhomes and holiday lodges rather than tents. The seasonal pitches are hard standing and fully serviced with electric hook-up, a water point and grey waste. Tent campers will need to look at another site in the Woodbridge area of Suffolk.
Are dogs allowed at Steadings Holiday Park?
Yes, dogs are welcome, and the park has gone further than most: the modern shower and toilet block includes a family wash room with a dedicated dog washing area. The park backs onto Newbourne Springs nature reserve, and there are walks and cycling routes straight from the gate.
When is Steadings Holiday Park open?
The season runs from 1 March to 3 January, so the park closes for roughly eight weeks in deep winter. The office is open Monday to Saturday from March to December, 10am to 5pm. Entry to the park is controlled by an ANPR barrier, with CCTV covering much of the site.
Is there fishing at Steadings Holiday Park?
Yes, there is a well-stocked lake on the lower part of the park, kept exclusively for park guests. There is also a café and shop on site and an EV charge point at the entrance, and The Fox Inn at Newbourne is a short walk away for food and a beer.
