About this site

Stone Cottage is an adults-only Certificated Location set beside Cleatham Trout Fishery, in open countryside near Kirton in Lindsey in north Lincolnshire, with four acres of fly fishing right on the doorstep. As a Caravan and Motorhome Club CL, it takes up to five caravans or motorhomes and you need to be a Club member to stay, so this is a small, quiet spot for touring units rather than a tent field or a big park. The pitches are large, lawned and famously level, described by regulars as bowling green flat, with 16 amp electric hookups, water taps, a chemical waste point and bins. There are no shower blocks, so you camp fully self-contained here, and stays run up to a maximum of 28 nights. The trout lake is the real pull: a spring-fed, four-acre water stocked with rainbow, brown and blue trout up to 20lb, with day tickets and light refreshments usually on hand. A short drive brings you to a farm shop, village pubs and takeaways across the surrounding Lincolnshire countryside, while Gainsborough and its Marshalls Yard shopping sit about 8 miles south west and Lincoln with its cathedral is within reach. Stone Cottage is open from 1 April to 31 October, with pitches at £20 a night, booked by phone.
