Sunflower Park Animal Rescue and Campsite is a 7-acre camping and fishing site set in Laughton Forest near Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, where every pitch fee helps fund a working rescue for over 300 farm animals known on site as the Crazy Gang. Founded in 2016 by Ian and Josie, the park sits about 6 miles from Gainsborough and 2 miles from the shops, chip shop and takeaways around Laughton and Scotter, so you feel tucked away without being cut off. You can choose non-electric grass, electric grass, electric hardstanding or an XL electric pitch, and there is wild camping too, with room for tents, caravans and motorhomes. Dogs, awnings and hot showers cost nothing extra, and each pitch takes up to 6 people. What sets this trip apart is the animals: you can wander among rescued geese, ducks, peacocks and farm animals, then fish the on-site lake or let the kids loose in the play area. There is a shop, cafe and bar on site, and you can hire a fire pit for £15 a night or £20 for your whole stay to toast marshmallows after dark. Sunflower Park is open all year near Gainsborough, with pitches from £30 a night for non-electric, and booking runs by email or phone.

So I have stayed at this site three times and fourth in 10 days and its amazing.
Firstly the campsite is more an animal rescue centre that has a campsite to generate more money to rescue more animals. The owners are lovely and super helpful and so long as your respectful they allow the kids to learn about the different animals, collect chicken eggs etc.
There are cows, pigs, goats, donkeys, birds just to name a few. As well as that its one of the few sites ive been on where i honestly feel safe letting my kids go off and play on their own.
There is a fishing lake and decent park as well to keep the kids entertained
Top tip: its a working farm, so dont take white clothing

Can you have a campfire?
Yes, you can toast marshmallows over a hired fire pit, which costs £15 for one night or £20 for your whole stay. Open fires straight on the grass are not part of the deal, so hiring a fire pit is the way campfires work here in the evenings.
