About this site

Sycamore Park is a small adults only touring park in the village of Theberton, a quiet spot on the Suffolk coast within easy reach of RSPB Minsmere. Theberton sits about two miles from Leiston and roughly three miles inland from the beach at Sizewell, with Aldeburgh to the south and Southwold to the north, so the Suffolk Coast and Heaths is right there for walking and cycling. Pitches are a mix of grass and hardstanding, each with electric hook-up, and caravans, motorhomes and tents are all welcome. This is an over 21s site, so if you are camping with children it is not the one for you. Pitches measure 18ft by 29ft, awnings cost nothing extra provided they fit, and cars park on your own pitch because there is no separate parking area. The shower block is modern with underfloor heating, and there are outdoor washing up sinks with hot water, fresh water points and a chemical disposal point. What makes Sycamore Park work is how quietly it is run: no music outside, no bonfires or ground barbecues, and an owner who is usually about on the neighbouring land if you need anything. Raised barbecues are fine. Dogs stay free but must be on a lead throughout, partly because of the animals in the fields next door. Sycamore Park opens from Easter until 27 September, with prices from £27.50 a night for two adults including electric hook-up.

Good to know

Are dogs allowed at Sycamore Park?
Yes, dogs are welcome at no extra charge. They must be kept on a lead at all times on site, partly because of the animals grazing in the neighbouring fields, and you are asked to clear up after them. Two site cats, Halftail and TC, also wander through, so bear that in mind.
Can you have a campfire or barbecue at Sycamore Park?
No, bonfires and ground barbecues are not allowed. You are welcome to use your own raised barbecue on the campsite instead. Clear it away responsibly afterwards and do not tip hot charcoal into the bins, which are separated on site for general waste, recycling and glass.
Do the pitches have electric hook-up?
Yes, every pitch has electric hook-up and it is included in the nightly price. Pitches are a mix of grass and hardstanding, each measuring 18ft by 29ft, and larger corner pitches are available on request. Cars park on your own pitch because there is no separate parking area.
When is Sycamore Park open and what does it cost?
Sycamore Park opens from Easter until 27 September. Prices start from £27.50 a night for two adults, including electric hook-up, limited wifi and full use of the site facilities. Additional adults are charged at £10 per person per night, and a non refundable deposit secures your reservation.
Is Sycamore Park adults only?
Yes, Sycamore Park takes over 21s only, so children cannot stay and families will need to look elsewhere. The trade-off is a genuinely quiet park: playing music outside your caravan is not allowed, and all campers are asked to keep noise to a considerate level.
How far is Sycamore Park from RSPB Minsmere and the beach?
Theberton sits about two miles from Leiston and roughly three miles inland from the beach at Sizewell, with the RSPB Minsmere reserve close by. Aldeburgh lies to the south and Southwold to the north, and the park is well placed for walking and cycling the Suffolk Coast and Heaths.
