About this site

Pitches: 10 Opening Dates: 01/04 To 31/10 Welcome to The Firs Fishery and Campsite, we invite you to this idyllic and rural site in the Kent countryside. Set in the quaint village of Shadoxhurst, within the beautiful Kent countryside surroundings, The Firs Fishery & Campsite is within five acres of land including two well stocked lakes (one for fishing), woodlands and a fabulous open field for camping. The village is a short rural walk away where you can visit The Kings Head pub serving excellent food and drinks, and the village includes a 13th Century chapel. The site is set within ancient woodlands, dark skies status which is perfect for star watching at night and the location is ideal for those who like to hike and groups of ramblers to explore the various footpaths of the unspoilt, picturesque Kent landscape. Peace and Tranquillity - A great place that is good for the soul, far away from traffic noise and urban hub hub, this is where you can genuinely unwind and refresh in countryside living, amongst the wildlife, enjoy our ducks who feed and breed, Woodpeckers, Kingfishers, Jays, Buzzards, Sparrow Hawks, Owls, Butterflies, Hedgehogs, Foxes, and we have had Deer drinking at the waterside. Nightingales can be seen and heard in the spring months. The site has fresh drinking water, WC and Wash Basin, Chemical Disposal, Campfire at owners consent. Dogs welcome on leads. Fishing is allowed when camping but no night fishing. The lake is well stocked with Carp, Tench, Roach, Perch and Rudd day tickets are £8 for one rod and £4 for a second rod. If you own a horse, and wish to bring it with you this is no problem as we have a spare large secure paddock. You can take your horse through our private gate into the quiet byway, and ride or hack through the woods and un spoilt countryside.
