Why campers love it here
About this site
The Limes Campsite is a small, friendly touring and camping site at Great Steeping near Spilsby, sitting where the southern edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds meets the flatter run down to the coast. This is a proper low-key spot: grass pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes with electric hook-ups, plus a couple of bell tents if you fancy glamping without bringing the kit. Campfires are allowed, which is part of why people book, and the fields stay quiet and dark once the sun goes down. Spilsby and its market town are around 2 miles away, while Skegness, the Gibraltar Point nature reserve and the Lincolnshire coast sit roughly 9 miles east, so you can mix beach days with walks in the Wolds. Bolingbroke Castle and the National Trust's Gunby Estate are both a short drive. Dogs are welcome, though the owners ask that they are small (no bigger than a Labrador or collie) and kept on a lead. It suits couples, families and small groups after countryside, big skies and an easy base for the coast rather than a park stacked with facilities. The Limes is open across the year, and pitches are booked through the campsite's own online booking page.
