Why campers love it here
About this site
Opening Dates: March To November Glamping in beautiful Hand built Shepherds huts sited in a sunny glade in the woods, or camp in small secluded woodland on our 200 acre family farm. Wander through the orchards to the National Trusts Bodiam castle and the local pub; take a ferry ride down the river, hop on a steam train, take part in adventure activities or just relax in front of the camp fire and enjoy the beautiful countryside. In bygone days, agricultural workers working away from the farm were often accommodated in huts; Hand built on the farm in the tiny village of Bodiam in East Sussex, our huts are based on the idea of an old Shepherds hut. The Shepherds huts - Glamping: Hand built on site using upcycled Materials the huts offer a usable and comfortable Glamping option. We can accommodate up to 5 guests comfortably in one hut. The huts have gas fired heating and Hobs, and open fire outside with cooking pots and a sink with running drinking water inside. The Shepherds huts are sited away from the campsites in little clusters of 4 huts together they have one loo and shower block for 4 units and a communal covered space. We accommodate group and individual bookings in the huts, a group can take all 4 of the huts to enable themselves an exclusive area. We never allow a group to accommodate 3 of the 4 huts as that would not be fair on the guests staying in the 4th hut. Camping: We offer tent only camping in tiny off grid sites each up to 15 pitches. There are 3 of these sites in wooded areas of the farm, each little sites has a loo and shower block with two chemical recycling loos using environmentally sound chemicals, Two showers and washing up facilities. Each site also has a communal covered area which is useful if the weather is not on your side! We offer one of these sites on exclusive hire to guests wishing to camp as a larger group. Tabernacles: An accessible alternative to camping in a tent is offered by way of our Hand made Tabernacles. These are small wood and tin huts on wheels they contain a double and two single futon style beds and basic camping equipment. There is no gas hob or heating. However there are solar panels that offer lights. The tabernacles can be moved into the campsites to enable a group of tent campers to be adjacent to guests staying in a tabernacle. Our sites offer a beautiful space to relax and the piece of mind that this is not to the detriment of the environmen
