Tomcat Farm Certificated Site

Tucked off the Old London Road at Copdock on the southern edge of Ipswich, Tomcat Farm Certificated Site is a half-acre, level, members-only campsite run by the Eagle family, and its trump card is position: Constable country one way, the A12 and A14 the other. Being a Camping and Caravanning Club Certificated Site shapes the place. A maximum of five caravans or motorhomes and up to ten tents stay at any one time, and you do need to be a Club member, though you can join on site. Grass pitches come with or without electric hook-up, and there is a version for larger units. Facilities are better than the acreage suggests: toilets, showers, purpose-built accessible facilities, dishwashing, a freezer for ice blocks, an iron, gas sales, Elsan point and free wifi. Two things to weigh up: campfires and fire pits are banned outright, though off-ground barbecues are fine, and the site does not run through winter. Flatford Mill, Dedham and Stratford St Mary sit close by on the Suffolk and Essex border, and Tomcat Farm is the nearest campsite to Jimmy's Farm, one of Suffolk's family attractions. Dogs stay on leads and cost nothing extra. The site opens 1 March to 30 November, shuts from 29 June to 9 July in 2026, and pitches start from £27 a night for one person with electric hook-up included.
