Camping at Tamar Lakes: Enjoy an outdoor camping adventure like no other. Tamar Lakes provides a unique camping holiday on the Devon and Cornwall border. The secluded setting of our campsite offers a great Ôget away experience for visitors however, you can also visit shops, beaches and restaurants as local town Bude is only a short drive away. Our campsite offers a great nights stay under canvas, outdoor adventuring and star gazing. For those who want to glamp we have a camping pod available onsite. During your visit you can enjoy the peaceful setting of our two lakes and take part in a range of outdoor pursuits with our onsite activity centre. Tamar Lakes is an AA graded 2 star campsite. Onsite there are separate shower blocks, toilets, a washing area and baby changing room. Theres a choice of hard standings, electric and non-electric pitches for tents and motorhomes. Camping with the Family. The campsite is ideal for families and anyone wanting to embrace the great outdoors. The large and open grounds ensure that children are able to run and play freely. A brand new childrens playground has been installed and there is a large pathway which circles Upper Tamar Lake. Our pathway has been designed for wheelchair and pushchair use and is suitable for walking and cycling. Enjoy a range of light refreshments in our cafe, positioned next to the childrens play area. What can you do at Tamar? Participate in a range of activities and explore the lake by kayak, bike or foot. Onsite is our activity centre offering tuition and hire for windsurfing, sailing, pedaloing, canoeing, cycling (hire available) and much more. Both the upper and lower lakes are popular coarse fisheries and home to the Cornish record common Carp, ÔBiggles. Bring along your fishing equipment and see if you can catch her!
