Nice marina site
Grass and hard standing pitches. Toilets/ showers very basic but clean. Local shops about 15 minute walk along canal bank. Pub at entrance of site, nice meals
Waterfront Country Park is a level, waterside touring park beside West Stockwith Marina, where the Chesterfield Canal meets the River Trent on the edge of the Doncaster postal area. It is built for caravans and motorhomes, with around 110 pitches across hardstanding and grass, electric hook-ups and a heated toilet block that stays open through winter. The setting is the selling point, a quiet marina and canal junction with narrowboats coming and going and flat towpaths for easy walking and cycling. There is a dog exercise area on site, and three pubs sit within a few minutes' walk at West Stockwith, so evenings are sorted without driving. Gainsborough is about four miles east across the Trent for shops and supermarkets, while Doncaster is roughly fifteen miles north-west. This is a calm, grown-up base for boaters, anglers and tourers rather than a family holiday park with entertainment. Note that the site sits right on the county boundary, and the surrounding parish is administratively in Nottinghamshire despite the Doncaster postal address. Waterfront Country Park is open all year, and pitches are booked directly with the park at West Stockwith.
