Why campers love it here
About this site
Set just outside the village of Bucklesham, Westwood Caravan Park is a family-run 90 pitch touring and holiday home park in open Suffolk countryside, a few miles inland from the coast. Ipswich, Suffolk's county town, is about six miles north west and Felixstowe seafront about five miles south east, where the container port gives the beach an unusually big view. Sutton Hoo is a short drive north. Pitches are hard standing super pitches, fully serviced with an individual water supply and 16 amp electric hook-up, and the rate covers one caravan or motorhome, two adults, two children aged three and under, an awning and up to two dogs kept on leads. Westwood takes caravans and motorhomes only, so tent campers are out, and with a maximum of six people per pitch it suits couples and small families rather than large groups. Seasonal pitches are available. The park runs free heated shower and washroom blocks, an accessible toilet and shower room, an outside washing up area with hot water, a small shop at reception, a ball-games area for children and a dog walk around the perimeter. Westwood Caravan Park opened at Easter 2007 and is run by a family with a long background in caravanning, and there is a separate adults-only sister park if you want quieter. Pitches start from £30 a night, bank holidays from £35, booked by phone or email with the Bucklesham office.
