Why campers love it here
About this site
Pitches: 20 Opening Dates: June - September This small exclusive site is what makes it unique for those hoping to escape from the larger populated sites and looking for a little peace. Set in the historic Windmill field, with a close by grazing horse and a small antique centre to browse should you wish. Our pitch point is that we would like to keep this small and exclusive and hence why we only have facilities to cater for up to 20 units at any one time. This is not your typical campsite, specialising in: ¥ Small stay campervans ¥ "Ellie" the Shepherds Hut (sleeps 2) - which is a modern equip unit with veranda doors, electric mains water, small fridge, gas domino hob, circular sink and a double bed. There is also a small stove which can burn wood or coal. ¥ "Hector" the Shepherds Hut (sleeps 2 + 2) - rusty on the outside and pleasing to the eye but his creature comforts extend to a double bed plus two small children's beds, dining area and kitchen sink with hot and cold running water. Combination oven/grill microwave, domino hob, fridge, kettle and toaster plus a small raised patio outside. ¥ "Hive Camper Pods" - These two person pods are complete with foam mattresses, ready for you to hop into from your Car without any assembly necessary. ¥ "Hive Double with Decking" - These are linked by a small decking area with connecting hatches, come complete with mattresses and sleep up to four people. Perfect for families. SHOWERSHACK! Wayyy different to anything else! This offers modern shower and toilet facilities, enhanced by music, hot air and is enriched with solar power electric and water. Big Bertha is onsite (large BBQ/Pizza oven), should you prove to be a safe operator and over 25. The site also offers a small but very clean shower room, two hand basins with mirrors, one urinal and two very modern WC's We accept only well behaved dogs on leads. Galahad the Helicopter(Original Westland Wessex XT469)History tells us this has seen active duty in the Falklands. The conversion tries to keep everything as original as possible (including the odd drip!). From the cockpit you look down the sundrenched valley and watch the sunset! It has an American caravan style layout with stainless steel units with gas hob, triple sink, oven/microwave, good size fridge plus small table & chairs. Small cloakroom with a very nice WC, hand basin and bidet. Mini bedroom which could accommodate either one extra adult or two small children. Main double bed has a 'cockpit dome' above for star gazing!
