About this site

Set in open countryside at Hawsker on the fringe of the North York Moors, York House Caravan Park is a family managed park with touring pitches, tent fields, camping pods and holiday homes a five minute drive from Whitby. The park lies less than half a mile from the Cinder Track, the old railway line that gives level walking and cycling to Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay and on towards Scarborough, so you can leave the car on the pitch for days at a time. Tourers get hardstanding pitches with electric hook-up, tents choose between hook-up and non hook-up pitches with a separate bottom field for family sized tents, and the camping pods just need food and a sleeping bag. An on-site bar serves food and drink, backed by a shop, reception and EV chargers, and reviewers regularly mention the clean shower block and the friendly welcome. Bank holidays carry a three night minimum stay, and pitch prices cover two adults and two children with extras charged per person. York House opens from 4 February to 4 January, effectively all but a month of the year, with hardstanding and tent pitches from £30 a night and pods from £50 on the park's current tariff.
