Why campers love it here
About this site
Applegarth Camping and Caravanning is a small, family-run members-only site on Clay Lane in Chichester, West Sussex. Fishbourne Roman Palace and Goodwood are both a short drive away, and the South Downs National Park and the south coast are only minutes from the gate. The site has no toilet or shower block, so it suits confident tourers and campers carrying their own facilities rather than anyone expecting a full amenities building; fresh water, an Elsan waste point and electric hook-up are provided instead. A stop for the number 56 bus into Chichester sits just 60 metres from the entrance, useful if you want to leave the car or caravan behind for the day. What stands out is the location: a genuinely rural pitch that is still walking distance from a cathedral city, with the Bull's Head pub and Masala City takeaway both nearby for an evening meal. Applegarth Camping and Caravanning runs from April to October each year, with standard pitches from £20 a night and electric pitches from £25 a night, booked direct with the site.
