Why campers love it here
About this site
Ashcroft Farm is a small, peaceful campsite on a working farm near Woolsery, three miles inland from the cobbled village of Clovelly in North Devon. The Meeson family have farmed here since 1961, and the camping field covers around two acres of flat and gently sloping grassland with generously sized pitches, many close to 15 by 15 metres. It takes tents, caravans and motorhomes, with electric hook-ups, showers, toilets and a washing-up area, and adjoining fields give plenty of room for dog walks and quiet corners. Dogs are very welcome, and day care for dogs is available, which is unusual and genuinely useful for owners heading out for the day. This is an off-the-beaten-track spot for people who want countryside quiet and dark skies rather than a shop, bar or pool, so anyone after resort facilities will be happier elsewhere. The coast is a short drive away, with beaches for surfing, rock pooling and sandcastles, plus the South West Coast Path for walkers. Bideford, Hartland and Clovelly are all within easy reach for days out. Views from the site stretch across rolling North Devon countryside as far as Dartmoor on a clear day. Ashcroft Farm opens seasonally from spring through to October, so check dates with the owners before you travel.
