About this site

Pitch where you like: Brighthouse Farm Caravan And Camping Site is a 40 pitch campsite on six flat, grassy acres of a working family farm at Lawshall, roughly 6 miles south of Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk, and the pitches are deliberately non-regimented rather than marked out in rows. Tents, caravans, motorhomes, campervans and trailer tents are all taken, electric hook-up is available, and the site welcomes families, couples, groups and bikers alike. Lawshall village is under a mile off and reachable on a private footpath from the site to the village shop and pub, and there is a 1.5 mile farm walk kept for guests only. Lavenham is 5.1 miles away, Long Melford 5.4 and Sudbury around 8, so Brighthouse Farm makes a sensible base for the Suffolk wool towns. Facilities run to separate toilet blocks for men and women, four lockable unisex units with shower, basin and WC, four large walk-in showers, water standpipes and a chemical disposal point, with hot showers on a £1.50 token. Dogs are welcome on the campsite, though not in the B&B rooms or self-catering cottages the Truin family also run here. Reviewers regularly mention the panoramic countryside views, the value and the flexibility over arrival times, while noting the shower block is showing its age. The site is open all year, tent pitches start from £10 a night for two, and stay six nights and the seventh is free.

Is Brighthouse Farm open all year?
Yes, the campsite is open all year on a six-acre working farm at Lawshall in Suffolk. The owners make a point of flexible check-in and check-out, including early starts and late arrivals, which suits people passing through on work as much as holiday campers.
