Brocklehead Caravan Park

Brocklehead Caravan Park is a caravan, camping and glamping site on a working farm at Eccleshill, on the edge of Darwen and Hoddlesden, spread across 63 acres of Lancashire farmland with a long view up to Darwen Tower. On a clear day you can pick out the hills of the Lake District, West Yorkshire and North Wales from the pitches, and Blackpool turns up in the distance, yet Darwen and Blackburn are both minutes away for a Vue cinema, an ice arena and the high street. Resident owners run the park, which takes caravans, motorhomes and tents on individual plots, each with an electric hook up and easy parking for the car, served by a large shower block where each cubicle has its own toilet, basin and shower. Bring pound coins, because the showers run on them. Glamping is the other half of Brocklehead: mini, midi and mega pods sleeping up to four, insulated and double glazed for year round use, with kitchens, fridges and microwaves inside, while the two Mega Bunker pods add en suites and hot tubs and the Shep Pod is kept for couples only. There is a play area, and dogs are welcome so long as you clear up after them. Caravan and motorhome pitches start at £30 a night per pitch and pods at £50, and you can book online.
