About this site

On the banks of the River Swale, three miles east of Richmond in North Yorkshire, Brompton on Swale Caravan Park is a family-run touring and holiday park where you can fish without leaving the site. The location works hard: the A1(M) is minutes away, Richmond's cobbled marketplace and Norman castle are a short drive west, and the Yorkshire Dales National Park lies just beyond the town. Tents, caravans, motorhomes and campervans all get pitches here, riverside glamping pods sleep four in a double bunk and two singles (bring your own bedding), and self-catering cottages suit anyone travelling without kit. Over 100 seasonal pitches, 27 of them fully serviced, mean plenty of caravanners park up at Brompton on Swale Caravan Park for the whole season, so book ahead for peak dates. Two recently refurbished, centrally heated toilet and shower blocks, a shop, a takeaway, a games room and a children's play area cover the practical side, and returning guests consistently mention the friendly welcome, spotless facilities and relaxed riverside feel. Now part of the Meridian Parks group, the park opens from 1 March to early November, with touring pitches from £30 a night including electric hook-up.
