Why campers love it here
About this site
Cheglinch Farm Glamping and Wild Camping is a small, family-run site on a working dairy farm at West Down, near Ilfracombe in North Devon, combining furnished glamping with back-to-basics wild camping on two separate parts of the farm. The glamping side has three furnished Lotus Belle tents in a four-acre field, each with proper made-up beds, its own eco-toilet, an outdoor kitchen with a gas barbecue and firepit, and a rustic shower room, with a maximum of three families or couples staying at once for plenty of space. The wild camping site is different again: it opens only for short spells in May and the summer school holidays, with large unmarked pitches, firepits to hire, cold water and toilets but no showers, so you bring your own. North Devon's surf beaches at Woolacombe, Croyde, Putsborough and Saunton are all within a few miles, and children can help collect eggs and meet the farm animals. Dogs are welcome on the wild camping site but not on Cheglinch's glamping field, so check which suits you. The season runs roughly May to October, with Monday and Friday arrivals, and current prices and availability are shown on the farm's own booking page.
