About this site

Cheristow Lavender Farm Certificated Site is a small, adults only, no frills campsite on a working organic beef farm on the Hartland peninsula in North Devon. Reached along traditional Devon lanes, it is a genuinely quiet spot: the owners cap numbers at around sixteen people, so prior booking is essential and the gently sloping grass field never feels crowded. Caravans and motorhomes (up to five) can take a hardstanding or grass pitch with or without an electric hook up, and tents are usually welcome too. Facilities are deliberately simple and clean, with a kitchenette, two showers and two washrooms built from upcycled materials, and a few firepits available to hire when conditions allow. The farm raises native Devon cattle using traditional organic methods, and the Hartland coast is the real reward: Hartland Quay and its dramatic rock formations, the waterfall beach at Speke's Mill Mouth, the cobbled village of Clovelly and RHS Rosemoor are all close by. Cheristow suits couples and quiet campers after peace and coastal walking, and because it is adults only it is not the place for a family holiday or anyone wanting pools and entertainment. Dogs are welcome, limited to two per pitch and kept on a lead. The site opens from Easter to the end of October, with pitches from £12.50 per person per night booked directly with the farm.
