About this site

Conifer Lake is an adults-only fishing retreat near Allerthorpe, just off the A1079 between Pocklington and York in East Yorkshire, built around two well-stocked coarse lakes with glamping cabins and seasonal touring pitches. The site sits in 10 acres of quiet, wooded countryside, roughly 15 miles from York and a couple of miles from Pocklington, with a local pub and restaurant about a 15-minute walk away. Because it is adults only, with no children, it suits anglers and couples after a calm break rather than families. You can stay in one of four cozy cabins (Mallard, Squirrel, Woodpecker and Fisherman's), each double glazed with a lake view from the bedroom and kitted out with a hob, fridge and lights, from £40 a night for two people with a two-night minimum. There are also seasonal touring caravan pitches with a 12-month holiday licence and free fishing included. The two lakes offer around 40 pegs of coarse fishing for carp, tench, roach and bream, with day tickets from the on-site honesty box. Dogs are welcome on a lead. The cabins open from 1 March to 31 October, and booking Conifer Lake by phone is the operator's preferred way to reserve a stay.
