About this site

Five vans, adults only, and a coarse fishing lake for a neighbour: Dale View Certificated Location is a Caravan and Motorhome Club CL on Oakenclough Road at Whitechapel, near Preston, sitting at the foot of Beacon Fell Country Park. The site is inside the Forest of Bowland, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with views across to Parlick, Fairsnape and the Bleasdale Fells from the pitches. The fells and the River Brock are walking and cycling country straight from the gate, the market town of Garstang and its supermarkets are a short drive away, and Lancaster and Blackpool are both close enough for a day out from this corner of Lancashire. All five touring pitches are hard standing, each with 10 amp electric hook up, a drinking water tap, a grey water drain and plenty of room for an awning. As a Certificated Location this is a members only site, and it takes caravans and motorhomes only: no tents, and no children either, so families should look elsewhere. Dogs on leads are welcome. What you are paying for at Dale View is the quiet and the view rather than a long facilities list, and the lake next door is the main event for anyone who fishes. The site is open all year, arrival is from 12:30pm, and John and Helen Bell take bookings on 01995 61060.

Good to know

Do I need to be a Caravan and Motorhome Club member?
Yes, Dale View is a Certificated Location, which means it is a five van site reserved exclusively for Caravan and Motorhome Club members. You will need a current membership to book or stay. CLs are owned and run by Club members rather than by the Club itself, so you book directly with the owners.
Is Dale View adults only?
Yes, Dale View is an adults only site, so it will not suit families with children. It is also caravans and motorhomes only, with no tents accepted. Dogs on leads are welcome. The Club lists it as ideal for adults, dogs, peaceful stays, scenic views and waterside stays.
Is there electric hook up?
Yes, every one of the five pitches has an electric hook up, rated at 10 amps. All the pitches are hard standing and enhanced, and each comes with its own drinking water tap and grey water drain plus plenty of space for an awning. Battery charging and recycling facilities are available on site.
Is Dale View open all year?
Yes, Dale View is listed as open all year by the Caravan and Motorhome Club. The earliest arrival time is 12:30pm and departure is by 12:00pm. As with most small Certificated Locations, it is worth ringing the owners on 01995 61060 before you travel, particularly outside the main season.
What fishing is there at Dale View Certificated Location?
The site sits directly alongside a peaceful coarse fishing lake, and the Club lists coarse fishing and watersports within five miles. The lake is the reason many guests choose the site. Contact the owners on 01995 61060 to confirm current fishing arrangements and any charges before you book.
How far is Beacon Fell and the Forest of Bowland?
Dale View is at the foot of Beacon Fell Country Park and lies within the Forest of Bowland, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are glorious views of Parlick, Fairsnape and the Bleasdale Fells from the site, with scenic walking routes and the River Brock nearby.
