Why campers love it here
About this site
Esholt Caravan Park is a touring and camping site attached to Esholt Sports and Leisure Club, set in open countryside on the edge of the village made famous as the original filming location for Emmerdale. The park sits about two miles east of Shipley off the A6038, roughly five miles north of Bradford and around eleven miles west of Leeds, with Baildon and the moors close by. Flat, spacious grass pitches suit touring caravans, motorhomes, trailer tents and tents, with 38 pitches offering 16 amp electric hook-up plus a separate field for campers who want more room. A clean amenity block with private showers, toilets and a chemical disposal point stays open around the clock. The clubhouse bar is what sets the place apart: guests get an onsite pub with a function room and outdoor seating over the sports grounds, and the Woolpack pub is a ten minute walk into the village. Reviewers regularly mention the tidy, well kept grounds, the quiet feel and friendly, helpful stewards. It suits sociable tourers and families using Esholt as a base for Bradford, Leeds, Harrogate and the Yorkshire Dales, rather than anyone after a remote wilderness pitch. The touring season runs from 1 April to 31 October, and pitch prices are quoted through the operator, so check the Esholt Caravan Park website before you travel.
