About this site

Four Ponds Fishery Certificated Site is an adults only fishing and camping site set in about twelve peaceful acres near Shillingford, close to Bampton in North Devon. It is a Camping and Caravanning Club Certificated Site, which means it is a small, member only site of just a handful of pitches, though non members can usually join the Club on arrival. Being adults only and centred on the fishing, it suits anglers and couples after a quiet, grown up base rather than families with young children. The site takes tents, touring caravans and motorhomes, with room for up to five caravans or motorhomes and ten tents at any one time, and electric hook up is available. The real point of coming here is the fishery itself, a mature carp and coarse water known for good quality, well coloured fish, with plenty of wildlife around the ponds including kingfishers, owls and sparrowhawks. There is a small tackle shop plus toilet and shower facilities on site. The setting is handy for the small towns of Bampton and Dulverton, the latter often called a gateway to Exmoor, so there is walking and moorland scenery within easy reach. Dogs are welcome. To stay, contact Four Ponds Fishery directly, as pitch numbers are limited and best booked ahead.
