Why campers love it here
About this site
Furzebray Lakes is a specimen carp fishery near South Molton in North Devon that also runs a small Camping and Caravanning Club Certificated Site alongside its lakes and gardens. The five-pitch site takes tents, caravans and motorhomes with electric hook-up, set around a three-acre lake in quiet countryside, and it is open all year. This is first and foremost a fishing venue: three exclusive carp lakes, stocked with specimen mirror and common carp, sit at the heart of the site, so it suits anglers and their families who want to pitch up beside the water rather than campers looking for a coastal park or on-site entertainment. There is also self-catering accommodation if you would rather not camp. The location works for exploring the wider area too, with South Molton's shops, markets and pubs within reach, the A361 about two miles away, and Exmoor, the North Devon coast and even Somerset and Cornwall a drive away. Dogs are not accepted, which keeps things calm for the fishing. Furzebray Lakes is open year-round near South Molton, and you book direct. Club membership applies to the Certificated Site pitches.
