About this site

Graffham Camping and Caravanning Club Site is a Club-run campsite set in secluded glades of trees and rhododendron near Petworth, deep in the South Downs National Park in West Sussex. Historic Petworth and Petworth House are both close by, and the South Downs Way passes near enough to the 90-pitch site for a day's walk or cycle straight from your tent. Pitches range from simple grass with no services up to super pitches with hardstanding, electric hook-up, fresh water and waste drainage, so tents, caravans and motorhomes are all catered for. Dogs are welcome, with plenty of paths onto the surrounding downs. One quirk worth knowing before you arrive: charcoal barbecues, disposable barbecues and open fires are all banned at Graffham to protect the surrounding countryside, so bring gas or electric cooking kit instead. It suits campers after a genuinely peaceful, wooded pitch close to walking country rather than anyone wanting a campfire evening or a lively site with entertainment. The approach lane is narrow with no passing space, so arrival before 1pm is discouraged, and satnav directions through Petworth should be ignored in favour of the signed lorry route. Prices for Club members start from £10.15 a night in this pocket of West Sussex.
