About this site

Green Haven Camping is a 14 pitch grass campsite at Rumburgh, about three miles from Halesworth in Suffolk, run with a firm eye on peace and quiet. Ten of the 14 pitches have electric hook-up, the field is broken up with native hedging and a wood chip path, and cars stay in a separate parking area with a garden wagon provided to ferry your kit across. Bungay is five miles away, Beccles seven and the Southwold coast about ten, which makes it a workable base for both the Suffolk coast and the Waveney valley. The site suits couples and small families: pitches take a maximum of six people, quiet time runs from 9pm to 8am, group bookings are not accepted and there is no play area, so large or lively parties are not catered for. The toilet block has underfloor heating and solar heated water, showers are metered at 50p for seven minutes, and there is a covered washing up area, fridges and freezers open around the clock, and an honesty shop selling local produce and breakfast baskets. Up to two well behaved dogs can stay per pitch, and five fire baskets can be hired with wood for sale. The Rumburgh Buck, a CAMRA award winning pub, is a five minute walk. Green Haven Camping opens from 17 April to 5 October 2026, with pitches from £20 a night.

Good to know

Are dogs allowed at Green Haven Camping?
Yes, up to two quiet, well behaved dogs can stay per pitch, but tell the owners when you book. Dogs must be kept on a lead around the site and any mess cleared up straight away. There are dog waste bins in Rumburgh village, and the local pub is dog friendly.
Can I have a campfire at Green Haven Camping?
Yes, Green Haven has five fire baskets available to hire and sells firewood on site. Ask when you book if you want one put by, as there are only five. Quiet time runs from 9pm to 8am, so keep the evening round the fire on the gentle side.
Does Green Haven Camping have electric hook-up?
Yes, 10 of the 14 pitches have electric hook-up. An electric pitch starts at £25 a night for two people across April, May, June and September, rising to £27.50 in July and August. Non electric pitches start at £20 a night for two people.
When is Green Haven Camping open?
Green Haven Camping opens from Friday 17 April 2026 until Monday 5 October 2026, so it is a seasonal site rather than a year round one. You can book online through the site's booking partner, or by phone or email direct with the owners.
How much does it cost to camp at Green Haven?
Pitches start from £20 a night for two people on a non electric pitch midweek in April, May, June and September. Weekends cost more, July and August are the peak, extra adults or children are £1 each, and children aged two and under stay free.
Is Green Haven Camping suitable for groups or young children?
No, group bookings are not accepted and each pitch takes a maximum of six people. There is no play area and the site does not suit large ball games. Children are welcome, but under 12s must be supervised, including when using the shower and toilet block.
