Grouse Hill Caravan Park

Grouse Hill Caravan Park is a long established family park for tourers, tents and glamping cabins, set in a secluded south facing valley inside the North York Moors National Park five miles from Robin Hood's Bay. The 14 acre site sits at Fylingdales just off the A171 between Whitby (8 miles) and Scarborough (12 miles), with a forest lake, woodland walks and heather moorland views in a spot known locally as Paradise. Up to 175 well spaced seasonal and touring caravans fit across the terraces alongside tent and motorhome pitches, plus twelve heated wooden cabins: four en suite Running Water cabins sleeping four and eight Big Chief cabins sleeping five. Pitches are allocated on arrival rather than picked, group bookings are not accepted and noise is kept down after 10.30pm, so it suits families and couples after a quiet base rather than big gatherings. The Butterfield family have run the park since 1978, the children's play area is built to challenge kids over eight, and firepits are allowed on the gravel beside the cabins. Dogs are welcome on leads for a small charge, and nightly pitch and cabin prices are quoted through Grouse Hill's online booking system.
